I flew to Aberdeen, hired a car, drove to Braemar, walked 20 miles to the top of Ben Macdui, the second highest mountain in the UK, and then drove most of the way back to Aberdeen. A very long day.

Climbed Ben Macdui again, this time from the north side. Lots of snow still there in May.

I waited a long time for the cloud to clear, but the views were great when it finally did.

The best way to visit the Highlands is to keep checking the weather forecast and fly up last minute when it's good. I had six days of fantastic weather in Torridon this way.

Looking for a snowy owl, but I think it had departed by the time I got there. The weather was not very good, but this made for some good photo opportunities when the sun did come out.
