Gasherbrum IV is the 16th largest mountain in the world. It has only been climbed a handful of times, and was the target of our two expedition leaders after the main part of the expedition had finished. That was until a quite outstanding member of the team, Hermann, got caught for the second time wandering around the Pakistani military camp taking photos, causing the military to revoke the expedition's permit. This was after the rest of us had left, but it must have greatly amused the two leaders, who had no choice but to go home early. Hermann acted dumb most of the time, which only reinforced my suspicions that he really was a spy.
